The Riches of Sagittarius

Amid dense clouds of interstellar dust and incredibly rich star fields, we see a striking contrast between emission, reflection, and darkness. The red glow of ionized hydrogen blends with delicate bluish nebulosity, while dark lanes carve depth into the scene. In the background, the Small Sagittarius Star Cloud (M24) shines like a window opened through the dust.
