Venus Season – From 28th May to 16th September

Well, since it will probably get very difficult to photograph Venus again this season for me, I decided to make this panel showing the change in apparent diameter and phase on these 7 captures I made since May.

All pictures of this Panel were taken in Curitiba/Brazil, I’m Alexandre Trentini and I’m the author of all those pictures and the Panel.

This season I tried and learned how to process data in IR and UV for Venus and this evolution is seen from the first picture to the last, the weather was not always perfect and the clouds didn’t show very much in some captures. My favorite day was September 3rd, I couldn’t believe the cloud pattern I got in UV that day.

To make this panel I used 7 pictures in different periods, not all captures were made using the same parameters (specially the first was made without a barlow) so I needed to resize and rotate some of them to match the apparent diameter in scale and make the orientation the same, all pictures have the South at the top, it is a representation I use a lot, because I usually see objects in the sky that way here on the Southern Hemisphere. I corrected some colors, especially on the first captures, since it was a learning curve and I usually made some bad color choices, especially boosting the red too much.

All pictures are False Color made of IR(Merge IR/UV)UV color coded RGB.
