Large Magellanic Cloud & The Tarantilla Nebula (LMC / NGC 2070)

The Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) and the Tarantula Nebula (NGC 2070) captured in a widefield view. Located approximately 160,000 light-years away, the LMC is a satellite dwarf galaxy orbiting the Milky Way, with its structure gravitationally shaped over cosmic time. Highlighting the upper region is the Tarantula Nebula, a colossal star-forming region and the largest, most active stellar nursery in our entire Local Group of galaxies. Across the main body of the galaxy, numerous emission nebulae, H-alpha bubbles, and superbubbles of gas sculpted by stellar winds and historical supernova events are clearly visible.

Captured under Bortle 2 skies in Porto Velho with 1 hour of total integration time.
