This image captures the IC 434 nebula, famously known as the Horsehead Nebula, along with its surrounding region. It was taken with my Redcat 51 telescope and a monochrome camera. The performance leap from the color cameras I’ve used previously is astounding. I initially had concerns that using a mono camera would significantly increase my capture time, but I was surprised to achieve superior results in a comparable period. The upgrade is undoubtedly worthwhile, especially for those with some experience in astrophotography.
