NGC 1365, also known as the Fornax Propeller Galaxy or the Great Barred Spiral Galaxy, is a double-barred spiral galaxy about 56 million light-years away from us in the constellation of Fornax. Including its two outer spiral arms, it spreads over around 300,000 light-years across. Barred galaxies of this type have come to more prominence in recent years with new observations indicating that our Milky Way could also be a barred spiral galaxy.
