In the constellation of Pegasus, this image shows two groups of galaxies. At the top right, the Deer Lick Group features the spiral galaxy NGC 7331 and its satellites (NGC 7335 to NGC 7340). At the bottom left, Stephan’s Quintet brings together five galaxies, four of which (NGC 7317 to NGC 7319) form a compact group located 340 million light-years away, displaying distortions caused by gravitational interactions. The fifth galaxy, NGC 7320, is much closer, at 35-40 million light-years.
