I present to you my last image taken during July 2024: WR 134.

The designation “WR 134” does not specifically refer to a nebula, but to a Wolf-Rayet star located about 6,000 light-years away in the constellation Cygnus, also known as HD 191765. By extension, this name often refers to the nebula created by this star, visible in the image presented here: a faint blue “shell” lost in the middle of a red “ocean” of Ha nebulosities.

It was captured from the garden of my house in Cannet-des-Maures in the Var region (France). The equipment used includes an ASI 1600MM monochrome camera (4656×3520) coupled with a SW 200mm F/D=5 on an EQ6-R Pro mount. A filter wheel was used with 3nm Antlia Ha and OIII filters for the nebula and Antlia RGB filters for the stars. The image required 8 nights of exposure, from July 3 to July 13, 2024, for a total acquisition time of 34 hours and 45 minutes, including 11 hours and 30 minutes in Ha, 18 hours and 45 minutes in OIII with 300” exposures, and 1 hour and 30 minutes for each RGB filter with 30” exposures. Autoguiding was performed using an ASI 120mm mini camera coupled with an Artesky 60mm refractor. The setup was controlled with an ASIAIR Plus. Pre-processing and processing were done using PixInsight and Photoshop
