Wadi Rum known also as the Valley of the Moon is a valley cut into the sandstone and granite rock in southern Jordan, near the border with Saudi Arabia. Numerous rock formations rise above the desert floor making for some unique photo compositions. Wadi Rum is not completely devoid of light pollution and the surrounding villages and towns make it a challenge to get the right image. One must travel deep into the valley to get away from the light pollution and the effort to do that will result in some nice nightscapes…
