A Seagull takes flight on the borders of the constellations of Monoceros (The Unicorn) and Canis Major (The Great Dog). Dubbed the Seagull Nebula as its shape resembles one in flight, the wings of the bird span over a 100 light years wide. This wide field view was captured utilising a mosaic of two panels on my fast Takahashi E160ed scope installed in a remote observatory in Chile and is presented in what is popularly known as the Hubble Palette.
