Sharpless 1, also known as Sh2-1, is a combination of a glowing HII region (in red) with the reflection nebula (blue) in the same field of view, with star Pi-Scorpii at its center. It is located in constellation Scorpius, nearby the well known Rho Ophiucus.
From my location it is a rather difficult target because it does not rise above 20ยบ from the horizon and there is a cap of 3-4 hours per night to shoot it, which I have done during June this year. In a total of 16 hours, I think it would benefit with some luminance data but this year it is now not possible.
