Title: 12P/Pons–Brooks March 13 2024, 19:48pm-20:43pm Province of Forli-Cesena, Italy
Date: March 13, 2024

After more than two months of fog and rain Maurizio saw that central Italy was going to have a good weather. He took a day of off from work and drove 400 km towards the Apennines, a place called La Faggia at 740 masl, on a hill where the view was clear to capture the comet 12P Pons-Brooks. That was the first comet of four that he would catch that night.

My brother Maurizio and I (her sister) share the astrophotography passion. Maurizio is in ‘charge’ of the capture and I process his data. The stacks were done in DSS, one for obtain a base stars and other for a comet-only stack. The postprocess is made in Photoshop. Other programs and tools are used for reduce noise.

Since the first stack we was happy to see many details of this wonderful comet alongside the protoplasma tail and upper parte side of the head. Is really a joy in the heart to see it. A Third stack of the best frames (12) was done for try get more details which turn assertive. Then was combined the previos stack worked in klayers a different percentage and finally add the base stars for get the final image.

Thanks for your attention
Best Regards
