The Lunar Sisters

The distance between the moon and the earth keeps changing. As a result, the apparent size of the moon is also variable in the night sky. The image presents a comparison between the size of a supermoon and a micromoon. Both the images were captured with the same camera and lens at the same focal length for a “true” comparison of their sizes. A supermoon appears almost 10-15% larger than a micromoon and also appears 20-30% brighter.
Both the images were captured in 2021 (May and December) from Kolkata, India with Nikon D5600 and Sigma 150-600c at 600mm.
