NGC 4725 is an intermediate barred spiral galaxy with a prominent ring structure, located in the northern constellation of Coma Berenices near the galactic north pole. It was discovered by the German-born astronomer William Herschel on 6 April 1785. The galaxy is about 40 mega-light years away from the Milky Way.
