Full Moon meets the “4 4000”

It was yesterday, 11/19/2021, from Col Agnel (one of the highest passes in Europe) that this alignment took place.
An alignment with the Full Moon which only happens 2-3 times a year.

It is with the Ailefroide (3954m), the Barre des Ecrins (4101m), the Pelvoux glacier (3943m) and the nameless peak (3913m) that the Moon came to meet them.

Indeed, the Moon never rises and sets in the same place, day after day, nor at the same times. As a result, this kind of rapprochement rarely happens and you have to be well prepared for it.

To succeed in the photo, it took:
– get up at 2:45 a.m.,
– carry the 17kg of equipment on your back and this over 8km on ski touring with the 700m of D +,
– face the cold and hope that the weather is good!

Photograph taken with a Canon 6D fitted with a Canon 300mm f / 4.0 L series lens.

Panorama of 15 images.
Each frame is a single exposure of 1/500 ° of a second, at ISO 2000 and f / 4.0.

Location: Col Agnel / Queyras / France
