The Beacon in the Darkness – Iris Nebula

The Iris Nebula, NGC7023, is one of the most famous reflexion nebulas. Located in the constelation of Cepheus, the king of Ethiopia, it features a hot and blue star in formation shining its light through a thick molecular cloud. It is known that in that bluish region complex hydrocarbon structures exist, which makes nebulae like this interesting objects to study.
