Una “vecchia” Mineral Moon ottenuta unendo tanti scatti effettuati tra il 2013 e il 2014.
Gli scatti sono stati ottenuti usando due differenti tubi ottici: uno Skywatcher MC90 e uno Skywatcher Newton Black Diamond 200/1000.
È stata usata una MagZero MZ5m per la ripresa dei dettagli del primo quarto, creando un mosaico i cui tasselli sono derivanti dallo stacking di svariati frame di un filmato e la luce cinerea è in realtà una serie di scatti in varie fasi di luna piena, riprese con Canon 5D Mark2 e Canon 40D modificata.
Il tutto è stato poi minuziosamente assemblato con Photoshop e la tecnica del Puppet Warp.
La saturazione è stata gestita con Camera Raw al fine di evidenziare la composizione dei materiali della superficie: molto sinteticamente, le parti tendenti al blu indicano la presenza di basalti ricchi di titanio, più invece ci si sposta verso il rosso più si è in presenza di basalti ferrosi. An old Mineral Moon got by the union of many shots taken between 2013 and 2014.
The shot have been taken using two different telescopes: a Skywatcher MC90 and a Skywatcher Newton Black Diamond 200/1000.
A MagZero MZ5m was used to get the details of the First Quarter of the Moon, making a mosaic where each tile came from the stacking of many frames and the earthshine is actually a series of shots of different Moon phases, taken by a Canon 5D Mark2 and a moddedCanon 40D.
Everything was carefully assembled in Photoshop, using the Puppet Warp technique.
The saturation was managed in Camera Raw in order to enhance the composition of the lunar surface: the blue areas show rich titanium basalts and the red/brown areas where iron is more widespread. [G. Melis]
