Un’immagine a banda stretta  di NGC 6188, una nebulosa a emissione situata a circa 4000 anni luce di distanza nella costellazione meridionale dell’Ara.

Questa immagine è il risultato della somma di fotografie scattate in diverse occasioni e luoghi durante l’anno passato. L’autore evidenzia come “Fotografare oggetti Deep Sky come questo è una bella sfida, perché spinge i limiti del mio modesto equipaggiamento  (specialmente la mia montatura). È molto gratificante quando devi lavorare sodo per un’immagine che poi si trasforma in un progetto in corso”.

About this image:
This image is the result of photographing at several occasions and different locations during the past year (from proper Dark Sky Sites to my Pier at home). Deep Sky Objects like this is a nice challenge, as it pushes the limits of my modest Telescope gear (especially my mount). It is very rewarding when you have to work hard for an image, and it turned into an ongoing project.

Technical Info:
64 x 600 sec. 7nm Hydrogen-Alpha (Ha).
64 x 600 sec. 6.5nm Doubly Ionized Oxygen (OIII).
William Optics APO Refractor Telescope.
Sensor cooled to -25°C on my QHY163M.
Integration time just under 22 hours.
Calibration frames: Bias, Darks and Flats.
Astrometry.net ANSVR Solver via SGP.
Pre-Processing and Linear workflow in PixInsight,
and finished in Photoshop.
