M 51 HALRGB

Here is a beautiful galactic couple. The main object is the famous Whirlpool galaxy cataloged M51 which is a spiral galaxy located in the direction of the Hunting Dogs constellation about 25 million light-years from home.
In company, there is the highly disfigured galaxy cataloged NGC 5195! Indeed, the two form a couple of galaxies in gravitational interaction hence the tidal tail and the bridge of matter that connect them.
